Curtain-side haulage — load fast, deliver faster.
A curtain-side fleet from 7.5 t rigids up to 44 t articulated trailers — palletised freight, side-loaded in minutes.
Curtain-side trailers are the workhorse of palletised distribution. A forklift slides the load in from either side — no manhandling at the back, no waiting on dock space, just curtains buckled, straps tightened, and gone. Capital Logistics runs a complete curtain-side fleet from our Tallaght depot, in every size from 7.5 t rigids for tight urban delivery up to 44 t articulated trailers for trunk-route line-haul.
Why curtain-side dominates palletised distribution
Loading time matters. A box body takes a forklift in via the rear doors, one pallet at a time. A curtain-side is unbuckled, the curtains rolled back, and the entire bed is accessible from kerb to roof. Pallet 1 and pallet 18 take the same effort to land. For distribution centres running tight loading-bay slots, that side-on access is the difference between making the cut-off and rolling tomorrow.
Choosing the right curtain-side for the job
Our 7.5 t works well for urban runs where the artic can't turn in. The 14 t and 18 t handle most regional pallet drops with tail-lift fitted as standard. The 44 t artic is the line-haul option for long single-drop runs to the UK, full loads to Cork or Galway, or batched multi-drop runs of 20+ pallets.
